I have known Bill Herring since 1992, just after I entered the
new homes sales business. He was one of the first sales trainers
I had the pleasure of learning from. I took his seminars through
the local Sales & Marketing Council, and the Developer I worked
for had him in for company training.
I achieved strong success as a salesperson with Bill’s
training, including several Top Producer Awards and numerous Million
Dollar Circle Awards.
Bill was the first person I called to do my sales training when
I became a sales Manager. He helped elevate our team to the best
in two counties. We grew between 20 and 50 percent per year in
sales volume; we stopped all giveaways; our average sales price
went from the $160k’s to well over $300,000 and Builder
Magazine rated us the 66th fastest growing building company in
the United States. I was promoted to Director of Sales & Marketing,
Senior Vice President and ultimately President. All the while
with Bill training our sales team, then our office and field personnel
and eventually our managers. I even paid him out of my own pocket
to train me personally.
Bill was the first person I called to help me with sales when
I started my own company. I had no money to pay him at the time,
but he believed in my partner and me and we worked out a payment
plan so Bill could get started right away. I can never understand
when someone says they can’t afford training. How can you
afford not to train?
As far as I am concerned, the successes of my career, from sales
associate, to sales manager to owning my own building company
is largely due to the coaching, mentoring and encouragement I
have received from my friend, Bill Herring. I literally would
not be in business today without his help, and I don’t want
to be in business in the future without his help.
Bill Herring is a man of vision, integrity, wisdom and loyalty
and is the best investment any company could make.
