I have only had the opportunity and benefit of spending time with Bill Herring three times, and each time has been life changing. My first experience had me shaking in my high heels over the video role-plays. But that fear I believe drove me to absorb more of the information from MSU I. I came back from training with renewed enthusiasm and a different outlook on my job description. I brought back the ability to better handle objections and also the ability to better manage my buyers and their special requests. (“No, and this is why”).
The second opportunity was brief, but will forever pop up in my mind. I was holding a lot of stress on my shoulders when Bill came to visit the Austin division, and he asked how things were going. I gave him the gist of recent events and he told me to get a piece of paper, and write down what he said, sign and date it. “I am hereby resigning as keeper of the universe”, (or something very similar). I left our Monday sales meeting with a spring in my step, ready to help people find their dream home. I needed to hear that and he knew it. So now, whenever our buyers are driving me crazy, I remember that I am no longer the keeper of the universe, and get back in the game.
Just recently, I returned from MSU II, and one again Bill came through. He understood that all of us knew the basics of Maverick Selling, but would still get stuck when a prospect sent us a curve ball. Bill’s second session really fine-tuned my technique and I brought back more confidence. He really brought it home to me that this is my shop and I determine how successful or unsuccessful it is. When a prospect came in this week, I could not wait and my engagement and discovery was so much better. They would leave and I could fill up an entire reg card with information. It was awesome, and sales training with Bill has made all the difference. I look forward to the next sales training opportunity.
